Overview

Case Clarity is an unofficial Chrome extension intended to help users understand USCIS case-response information from their own signed-in myUSCIS session. It is not affiliated with USCIS or the Department of Homeland Security.

Information processed by the extension

The extension may process receipt numbers, form types, case events, notices, appointment information, evidence-request information, document counts, filing dates, update dates, and other fields returned by myUSCIS.

Passwords and login information

The extension does not request or collect a USCIS password. It uses the browser session that the user has already established directly with myUSCIS.

Local storage

When history is enabled, complete or summarized case responses may be stored locally in Chrome extension storage. Users can disable history, export stored history, or delete it. Removing the extension normally removes its extension storage.

Data transmission

The basic extension does not transmit case information to the developer, advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers. The website is static and does not contain a custom backend.

Third-party services

The website may link to the Chrome Web Store and to external contribution or payment providers. Those providers have their own privacy policies and process information independently.

Data sales and advertising

Case information is not sold, rented, or used for targeted advertising. The basic website and extension do not include advertising.

Security

Local browser storage is not an encrypted legal-record vault. Users should protect access to their device and browser profile and should avoid exporting case history to insecure locations.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the product changes. The date at the top of this page will be updated when material revisions are published.
